In series 1, books 2 & 3 and series 2 books, we have held competitions for school children. We have had some amazing entries from schools across the area.
For Book 2 – ‘The Little Urban Fox Explores The Botanical Gardens’ . We held a competition to find out how Stumpy lost his tail, we had some really lovely and imaginative entries. Our winner Susan wrote a great story which can be found at the back of the book, you can also find Susan in the book dropping her ice cream into the Bear Pit when she is surprised by the little fox.
For Book 3 – ‘The Little Urban Fox Explores Longshaw and Padley Gorge’ . Our competition was to draw a Boggart to be included in the story, Evie gave us our friendly Boggart and Jamie gave us our scary one, both their Boggarts appear in the story. You can also find Evie and Jamie in the book.
For the first of our series 2 books – ‘‘The Little Urban Fox Explores Castleton’ . We held a competition to create a cave creature who lives in one of the caves at Castleton. Again we had some really fantastic entries, our winner was Jack and our second prize winner was Bevan. They and their creatures appear in the book.
For the second of our series 2 books – ‘‘The Little Urban Fox Explores Bakewell’ . We held a competition to create a recipe for a delicious cupcake for mother fox. Once again we had some fabulous entries from schools and libraries across Sheffield and Derbyshire. Our winner Elsie included frogs, snails, worms, ladybirds and even fish in her recipe. Elsie features in our book along with the recipe for her cupcake.
