Shepherd Wheel Shepherd Wheel dates back to the 1500s. The water wheel was powered by water from the dam above. Children as young as 10 worked there, helping the men grind sharp blades on knives. Since 1998 Sheffield Museum’s Trust has owned Shepherd Wheel.
