Dog friendly pub walks @hungry.Hikes.with.Hounds

We are lucky enough to live in such an amazing part of the country. We have made a map of dog friendly pubs in The Peak District and Derbyshire. Along with this we have planned walks that include a visit to one of the pubs on our map. We plan to visit all the pubs over 2024 and 2025 and give them ratings and recommendations.

Click the FB icon below to follow us on Facebook for some lovely walks that include a visit to a dog friendly pub along the way. See reviews of the pubs we visit and more information on the walks.

Dog Friendly Pubs in Sheffield, The Peak District and Derbyshire.

Walk 1- 4.8 miles

Walk along the Monsal trail through Headstone tunnel on to Headstone viaduct and down to Ashford in the Water, with lunch at The Bulls Head.

Walk 2 – 3.4 miles

Round walk starting and finishing in Ashover, with lunch at The Old Poets Corner.

Walk 3 – 4.2 miles

Round walk taking in the beautiful Derbyshire scenery, starting and finishing in the village of Chelmorton with lunch at The Church Inn.

Walk 4 – 4.4 miles

A great walk, taking in rocks, moors, woodland and history near Baslow and Gardom’s Edge with a lovely lunch at The Robin Hood.

Walk 5 – 6.5 miles

Another lovely walk taking in the villages of Taddington, Flagg and Chelmorton. Plenty of dog friendly pub options here, this time we chose the Queens Arms in Taddington.

Walk 6 – 5.1 miles

Walking closer to home along the three Redmires reservoirs with lovely countryside and quiet stretches of road. Finishing off with lunch at The Three Merry Lads.

Walk 7 – 8.2 miles

Long walk incorporating Magpie Mine, Lathkill Dale and lunch at The Bull’s Head at Monyash. This is a great pub for families with a lovely outside seating area and children’s playground and the added bonus of some lovely Alpaca neighbours.

Walk 8 – 4.7 miles

This walk follows the trail of The Little Fox in our fourth book, ‘The Little Urban Fox Explores Castleton’. It takes in many of the sights in Castleton; starting at Odin’s Mine and The Crushing Wheel, up The Broken Road, down into Castleton, passing the school, church, and Visitor’s Centre, before passing Peak Cavern, Peveril Castle, Speedwell Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern. Click the link Little Urban Fox & Friends for more information on our Little Fox Explores series of children’s books. Lunch in The Castle was lovely but in Castleton you are spoilt for choice with The George, The Bulls Head and Ye Olde Nags Head.
